Sciatic Leg Pain

The sciatic nerve is the largest and longest nerve in the human body. It runs from the lower spine, through the buttock and all the way to the lower leg.
The sciatic nerve functions to provide sensation to the entire lower region of your body, including your thighs and the soles of your feet.
Sciatic Symptoms
The most common symptom of sciatic nerve irritation is pain flowing consistently along the pathway of the nerve, especially when the pain is consistent on only one side of the body.
There are many ways this pain can be experiences. Some people feel a tingling sensation as well as aching or burning. Others feel like there are being poked with pins and needles, often accompanied by weakness in the leg or foot.
Sciatic usually develops slowly. The pain is normally aggravated by long periods of sitting, bending, sneezing or coughing, as well as sudden movements.
