Is Chiropractic Safe?
Chiropractic is one of the safest therapies available is you are suffering from back, neck, joint, or head pain.
When we say safe, we have numbers to back it up. The risk of injury is 1 in 286,000,000 or 0.0002%. Compare this to surgery and medication where the risk of injury is 1 in 1428. So you can see that chiropractic manipulation is much safer.
The most common issue involving chiropractic isn’t an injury but simply some mild soreness after adjustment. You know that your muscles feel sore after you’ve done something you don’t normally do. That’s the type of soreness you may feel because your muscles, bones, and ligaments have been moved in ways they’re not used to moving. Any soreness you may feel will be gone within 24 hours and most patients feel better immediately with no soreness at all.
Why is chiropractic so safe? Chiropractors spend years at school learning about all aspects of the spine and they have been trained, doing clinical work, long before becoming licensed.
Chiropractors also continue to learn. They must complete yearly courses to maintain their license to practice.
